Dr. Bender conducts a in-depth cognitive and personality assessment of each candidate and provides deep insights about the candidate’s strengths and weaknesses for your position and how to best manage and develop that candidate if selected for the role. In addition to both a written and verbal report on each candidate, Dr. Bender is available to you for ongoing discussion about each candidate, including post-employment coaching based on his assessment data and insights.
Dr. Bender’s insights can be invaluable in helping you make the best choice for your business. We are pleased to recommend this optional service for key search assignments, particularly in the C-Suite and critical direct reports to the C-Suite. Professional Qualifications and Biography
Dr. Bender holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and has over 25 years of experience in the Corporate Human Resource Consulting field. He established his own consulting firm following a ten year career with the international management consulting firm The Hay Group which he joined following graduation. Dr. Bender was the firm’s youngest partner (age 32) and was promoted to managing partner of the firm’s Los Angeles office at the age of 34.
Dr. Bender has consulted with over 100 public and private corporations in a wide range of industries, and has extensive experience in organizational effectiveness consulting, executive assessment, organizational design and analysis, executive coaching, executive team building, and the development of assessment programs in the restaurant, consumer foods/packaged goods, specialty retailing, hospitality, and gaming fields. His clients include General Mills, Inc. (20 plus years) and Darden Restaurants (Red Lobster, The Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze) (20 years), Ignite Restaurant Group, and EI Torito Restaurants. In addition to the Casual Dining segment of the restaurant industry, Dr. Bender has also consulted extensively within the QSR and Quick Casual segments where his clients have included Del Taco, Captain D’s, Bojangle’s, Wendy’s International, lack-In-The Box, Ms. Fields Famous Brands, and Roark Capital (Focus Brands) and within the specialty retailing field where his clients have included Eddie Bauer and Talbots. Dr. Bender has also consulted extensively within the aerospace, manufacturing, service industry and technology fields.
In addition to his Corporate consulting practice, Dr. Bender works extensively with multiple venture capital and private equity firms where he contributes to the due diligence process, provides input to the selection of the executive and management teams for portfolio management companies, and provides guidance during the governance stage of private equity transactions. He has conducted over 4,500 executive level assessment interviews in the course of his career. Dr. Bender is a Licensed (Board Certified) Psychologist as well as a member of numerous professional organizations and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
